Saturday - Beginner's Sewing Machine Basics

In this class you will learn the features of your sewing machine, how to wind a bobbin, thread your machine and begin sewing. You will learn about types and styles of thread, your machine's features, how to gauge stitches and seams, change stitch length, change stitch type, and about basic stitches and applications. We will instruct you on proper techniques for sewing, how to maneuver the material, how and when to change the needle and what to do if you have difficulty with your machine. We will also include tips on machine care and simple maintenance.

| Materials Included: | Scissors and/or snips will be provided in the classroom. |
| Requirements: | You will need to bring thread, your sewing machine, all the feet that came with your machine, your foot control and power cord. If you do not have a sewing machine, you will be able to reserve one in our classroom. (Thread will be available for purchase at the beginning of class.) |
